Bio of Mike Callahan

 

Mike Callahan has over 33 years experience teaching golfers of all levels from beginners, advanced, professional athletes and golf professionals.  Mike received his certification in golf instruction through the United States Golf Teachers Federation in 1996.

​

Mike is currently teaching at the Airport Driving Range and Pro Shop.  He has instituted his golf learning center, which includes a variety of golf instructional program for all ages and skill levels.  Mike is also doing club fittings with major golf companies including Bridgestone, Callaway, Cobra,  KZG Golf, , Mizuno, OnCore Golf, Ping, Puma, TaylorMade and Tour Edge.

From 2013 to 2018, Mike has exhibited his talents at the Broadway Driving Range and Miniature Golf, in Depew, New York, where he created an admirable comprehensive golf learning center.  Mike is able to improve swing mechanics as well as the overall understanding of golf in students of all ages and playing levels. He has a real passion for teaching fundamentals of the golf swing and enjoys witnessing the transformation of his students to inspired golfers.

 

From April of 2004 to October of 2012, Mike worked at the Airport Driving Range where he established a new and improved golf instructional program, which includes private and group golf instruction, corporate and specialty clinics, 6 and 4 week instructional classes and on-course playing lessons.  

 

In 2007, Mike received his certification as a master club fitter.  In 2007, 2009, 2019 and 2020, Mike was named as one of the Top 100 club fitters in the world by KZG, a custom golf equipment company.

            

Additionally, Mike has written several articles that were published in the Senior Beacon, the Buffalo News and several websites.  Mike also published his golf instructional book A Swing for a Lifetime in 2016.

 

Mike’s extensive knowledge of the golf swing originates from vast research of various golf methods including David Leadbetter, Jimmy Ballard, Gary Smith, and Michael Hebron. During the fall and winter months of 1991 through 1994, Mike trained under Gary Smith, the senior associate instructor at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
